Chief of Air Staff urges newly graduated recruits to safeguard nation’s stability, embrace ethical conduct

Chief of Air Staff, Hasan Abubakar, has urged the newly graduated recruits of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to prioritize the stability of the country and not allow themselves to be manipulated for destabilizing purposes.
Addressing the passing out parade of 1,123 recruits from basic military training course 43/2022, held at the military training center in Kaduna, Abubakar emphasized the importance of adhering to the code of conduct for armed forces personnel involved in internal security operations.
He stressed that it was crucial for the recruits to fulfill their duties as outlined in the code.
In his speech, Abubakar encouraged the recruits to maintain focus, motivation, and foster innovation in their contributions to the NAF’s efforts towards achieving Nigeria’s security imperatives.
He highlighted the significance of upholding the highest standards in civil-military relations.
“Remember also that the NAF undoubtedly expects the highest standards from you regarding civil-military relations,” the airforce chief said.
He identified integrity, service before self, and excellence as fundamental values that the recruits should embrace.
Abubakar also cautioned them against succumbing to any inducements or actions that could create disaffection among fellow armed forces members. He emphasized that their duty is to protect all Nigerians, irrespective of their leanings or inclinations.
“Embrace integrity first, service before self and excellence in all you do.
“You must not succumb to any inducement or action that would cause disaffection amongst fellow members of the armed forces and remember that your duty is to protect all Nigerians, irrespective of their leanings or inclinations,” he added.
The chief of air staff asked the recruits to “thoroughly familiarise themselves with the social media policy of the armed force of Nigeria” to avoid misusing the platforms for compromising ongoing operations.
Abubakar took the opportunity to reassure the President, Bola Tinubu, of the NAF’s commitment to the administration’s aspiration for a peaceful and prosperous country.
