Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to arrive in Nigeria for official visit

The Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr. Wang Yi, is set to arrive in Abuja, Nigeria, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, for an official visit.

Upon his arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, he will be welcomed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, PhD.

During his stay, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will engage in bilateral talks with Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, OON, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The discussions will focus on strengthening the diplomatic and economic ties between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the People’s Republic of China.

In addition to his diplomatic meetings, Mr. Wang Yi will also pay a courtesy call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa. During this visit, he is expected to deliver a special message from the Chinese President, further deepening the bilateral relations between the two nations.
