Chukwueze arrives in London to finalize Fulham move
Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze has arrived in London as he edges closer to completing a permanent transfer to Premier League side Fulham from AC Milan.
The deal, which has been under discussion for weeks, is now at an advanced stage, with reports confirming that the Super Eagles star is set to undergo his medical on Monday.
According to The Times, Fulham will secure Chukwueze’s services for a fee in the region of €25 million, including performance-related bonuses. Once the paperwork is finalized, he will officially become the latest addition to Marco Silva’s squad.
The move will also reunite Chukwueze with his Nigerian compatriots at Craven Cottage. Calvin Bassey has already established himself as a defensive pillar for the Whites, while Alex Iwobi has been a consistent figure in midfield.
The arrival of another Super Eagles international is expected to boost Fulham’s attacking options and further strengthen the connection between the London club and Nigeria.
Chukwueze’s career has been one of promise and flashes of brilliance. After breaking through at Villarreal, he became an integral part of the Spanish side’s success. His most notable contribution came in the 2020/21 season when he played a key role in Villarreal’s Europa League triumph, a historic achievement for the club. His performances in La Liga earned him a five-year contract with AC Milan in 2023, a move many believed would elevate his career to the next level.
However, life in Italy did not go as smoothly as anticipated. Despite featuring in 69 matches in all competitions for the Rossoneri, Chukwueze scored only eight goals and struggled to cement his place in Stefano Pioli’s starting XI. The winger often showed glimpses of his pace and flair but lacked the consistency required to thrive at the San Siro.
Now, with Fulham offering him a fresh start in the Premier League, Chukwueze will be eager to rediscover his best form. At 26, he still has plenty of years ahead to make a significant impact, and the English top flight could be the perfect stage for him to showcase his talent once more.
