City Boy Movement inaugurates NWC, targets 10 million votes for Tinubu

The City Boy Movement (CBM) on Monday began its maiden three-day National Retreat in Abuja, where it inaugurated members of its National Working Committee (NWC) and unveiled plans to mobilise 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu.
The retreat, which brought together members of the Governing Board, National Working Committee, National Directors, State Directors and other stakeholders from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, is aimed at strengthening the group’s structure and intensifying grassroots mobilisation in support of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
A major highlight of the opening ceremony was the swearing-in of members of the National Working Committee and State Directors, who pledged to uphold the constitution and objectives of the movement. Goodwill messages were delivered by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; the movement’s patron, Seyi Tinubu; and its Director-General, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga.
Speaking at the event, Olawande urged members to remain united and take the message of the Tinubu administration to communities across the country, while Seyi Tinubu described the retreat as a platform to prepare members for greater democratic participation and national service.
Delivering the keynote address, Shoga said the movement would serve as a bridge between the government and Nigerians by promoting awareness of the administration’s policies and reforms, including student loans, youth development, digital innovation and infrastructure projects.
“Our mission is clear. Our target is 10 million votes. Our strength is our people. And our time is now. Ten million votes will not come from slogans or social media. They will come from real people, real structures, real engagement and real work at the grassroots,” he said.
Shoga also urged members to expand the movement’s membership in every ward and community, saying every official should take responsibility for strengthening its grassroots presence ahead of future political engagements.
The retreat, which ends on Wednesday, will feature leadership development, strategic planning, policy discussions and capacity-building sessions aimed at strengthening the organisation nationwide.
