Civil servants without KWSRRA number not eligible for November salary, says Kwara Gov’t

The Kwara State Government has announced that public sector workers without a valid KWSRRA number will not receive their November 2024 salary or bonuses.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, on Monday in Ilorin. The statement emphasized the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency, explaining that the directive applies to all state employees, including those across Kwara’s 16 local government areas.

This follows a long-standing directive, issued several months ago, requiring all state employees to complete their registration with the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA).

KWSRRA, a legally empowered body, collects and manages data on all residents in Kwara State, assigning unique identities to each individual. This system aids in effective planning, resource management, public service delivery, and safety.

“Effective November 2024, any worker who has not registered with KWSRRA will be excluded from salary payments and bonuses,” the statement read. “This registration is crucial in establishing a comprehensive and accurate database that will allow us to serve Kwara State residents more effectively.”

Dr. Nuru highlighted that ensuring all state workers are registered strengthens the payroll system, improves service delivery, and builds trust in government processes.

“The integrity of our data impacts all financial and administrative systems,” she noted. “A complete database enables informed decision-making, efficient resource allocation, and fair and accurate compensation for eligible workers.”

The statement urged unregistered state employees to visit the nearest KWSRRA registration center to complete their enrollment promptly.

“Through this directive, Kwara State is creating a more efficient and equitable system for its workforce and residents alike,” it concluded.
