Climate Adaptation: Eno, Diri join global leaders at 2025 UNOC in France

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, and the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, were among other delegates at the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) 2025 Special Event on Ocean Rise and Coastal Resilience in Nice, France, today, June 7.

This was disclosed by Governor Eno’s Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh on his facebook page on Saturday.

The high-level summit brought together global leaders, scientists, and policymakers to address the urgent challenges of rising sea levels, climate adaptation, and sustainable coastal development.

Eno was accompanied by the Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Advisor, Mr. Aniefiok Udoh; the Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Rt. Hon. Nsikak Ekong; the Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr. Frank Ekpeyong; and the Managing Director/CEO of Hensek Integrated Services, Engr. Uwem Okoko.

According to Udoh, their presence reinforced Akwa Ibom State’s commitment to environmental sustainability, innovative climate solutions, and strategic global engagement on coastal resilience.

Udoh explained that Eno’s participation at the summit underscores the State’s growing international profile and proactive leadership in addressing climate-related threats through collaboration, technology, policy action, and support.
