Concern as Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho returns to Nigeria

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho has returned to the country amid concerns that the travails of the Oke Ogun born activist may yet be over.
Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki confirmed the development. Videos of the activist in his Oke Ogun homestead have also surfaced on the social media.
Reports indicate that Sunday Igboho returned to Nigeria for the burial ceremony of his mother who passed on while the activist was away from the country.
Igboho, one of the arrowheads of the Yoruba Nation movement left the country after he escaped a Department of State Security Services (DSS) night raid on his house in Ibadan in 2021. He fled to Nigeria’s neighbour, The Republic of Benin, where he was arrested and detained by Benin officials as he and his wife were about to board a plane to Germany.
He was charged to court and later placed under house arrest in Benin for two years until his eventual release last October after which he travelled to Germany.
There are strong indications that his ordeal may not be over given the timing of his return to the country.
