Contractor assures early delivery of Oyo-Ogbomoso dual carriageway

The new contractor handling the Oyo-Ogbomoso dual carriageway project, JRB Construction Company Ltd, has assured that the project will be completed earlier than the September 2026 deadline.

The JRB Technical Project Manager, Joseph Onche, gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing newsmen at the project site in Ogbomoso.

Onche explained that the company secured the contract in March after the termination of the previous contractor. He said the project involves completing the remaining 36 kilometres of the 53-kilometre road within 18 months.

“We have mobilised to the site and commenced work immediately after the contract was awarded in March. So far, we’ve spent three months on it now, and we’re confident of completing the project before the 18-month timeline,” Onche stated.

He added that the company had carried out thorough investigations to determine the current state of the project, which has guided their work so far.

“Though there may be doubts from some quarters, we believe in our ability. We have the capacity, the experience, and a team of qualified engineers to deliver this project effectively,” he assured.

Also speaking, the JRB Project Manager, Ajmal Khan, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering a durable and quality road. He urged residents of Ogbomoso and motorists using the Oyo-Ogbomoso route to remain patient, promising excellent results.
