Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State are yet to reach a final resolution over the outcome of the party’s governorship primary conducted on Thursday, amid growing controversy surrounding the exercise.

Although reports from the primary indicated that Sarafadeen Alli polled 578,143 votes to defeat former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and another aspirant in the contest, conflicting results circulating online claimed that Adelabu emerged winner of the exercise.

The development has further deepened uncertainty within the party, as supporters of the aspirants continued to trade claims over the authentic outcome of the primary election.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the APC in Oyo State, Olawale Sadare, said the result being circulated had not been officially confirmed by the party leadership.

Party sources also disclosed that the leadership of the APC in the state had remained silent on the issue in an effort to manage tensions generated by the conduct and outcome of the primary election.

The sources added that consultations were ongoing among key stakeholders to address concerns raised by party members and prevent further division within the party ahead of the governorship election.
