A National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) member, Ige Adedayo, serving in Delta State, has reportedly died on Saturday, in a lone accident at Ago Adura area, Itori -Sango expressway in Ogun State
Spokesman for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the crash in a statement sent to journalists in Abeokuta, adding that the crash involved a Mercedes-Benz with number plate JJJ168JF.
According to reports, Adedayo was among the corps members who had recently passed out of the orientation camp and visited home for the Easter celebrations before answering the inevitable call of nature.
Akinbiyi quoted an eye witness account as stating that, “the car driver dosed off while driving which led to loss of control, tumbled and crashed from inward to outward lane”.
An indigene of Ogun State, Adedayo had graduated from D S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, an area coincidentally not too far away from the accident spot.
The statement had earlier claimed that the deceased was a corper serving with D S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori but a reliable source within the NYSC in the State, debunked the information..
The source who pleaded anonymity, said, “We have done our investigation, no corper serving in Ogun State is missing, the one reported to have unfortunately died in an accident on Saturday, one Ige Adedayo Samuel was a corper serving in Delta.
“He might have probably come home for the Easter break before meeting his untimely death. His code number is DT/24A/1478.
“He was said to have finished from D S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori just few metres to the spot of the accident”.
The remains of the deceased has reportedly been deposited at the Ifo General Hospital.
