Controversial singer Habeeb Olalomi Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, sentenced to three months in prison by Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo.
The conviction followed his earlier arraignment in April 2023 at the Magistrate Court in Ifo on a three-count charge bordering on assault and theft of musical instruments, as detailed in charge sheet No. MIF/192C/2023.
Portable had been granted bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties from his immediate family but failed to appear for multiple court hearings.
He was remanded last Thursday after finally appearing in court, following repeated adjournments due to his absence.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Olumide Awoleke, stated that the offence was committed on November 18, 2022, around 11:00 a.m. at Okeosa, Ilogbo, within the Ifo Magisterial District.
