Cubana Chief Priest loses APC House of Reps ticket
Socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, had recently declared his intention to fully venture into politics under the APC, a move that generated widespread reactions across the South-East and on social media.
The nightlife entrepreneur and coordinator of the South-East City Boy Movement had purchased the APC nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the federal constituency seat, describing his ambition as a contribution to youth empowerment and grassroots development.
His political ambition attracted mixed reactions from constituents and stakeholders, with supporters praising his popularity and philanthropic efforts while critics questioned his political experience and readiness for legislative duties.
The APC primary election, held as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, eventually saw him fail to secure the party’s ticket for the constituency.
The exercise was conducted alongside other party primaries across the country to select candidates for various elective positions.
Details of the final vote count and the identity of the winner were not immediately disclosed at the time of filing this report.
The outcome has continued to generate reactions among supporters and political observers in the constituency and beyond.
