…deploys 4,000 CNG tankers

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to begin nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel from August 15, targeting fuel marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom firms, aviation operators, and other major consumers.
In a statement released via its official X account on Sunday, the company said it would provide free logistics support to enhance delivery and ensure product availability across the country.
To facilitate the rollout, the refinery has invested in 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers. It is also establishing over 100 CNG tankers and daughter booster stations nationwide to maintain a steady supply chain.
“This strategic programme reflects our unwavering commitment to eliminating logistics bottlenecks, driving sustainability, and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the statement said.
Petrol stations and industrial customers purchasing directly from the refinery will enjoy cost savings through free delivery. Buyers of at least 500,000 litres will also benefit from a two-week credit facility of an additional 500,000 litres, backed by a bank guarantee.
Dangote Refinery described the effort as a major step in revolutionising Nigeria’s energy sector and improving fuel affordability nationwide.
The initiative is expected to revitalise dormant petrol stations, create jobs, stimulate small businesses, and boost fuel access in rural and underserved communities.
The company acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and commended the Federal Government’s support, particularly the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which has stabilised local supply despite global price volatility.
