Dapo Abiodun’s developmental strides in Akute, Alagbole Ajuwon, Lambe axis by Kola Amzat

For decades, Akute, Alagbole, Ajuwon and Lambe axis have suffered infrastructural neglect.
The vast communities, unarguably the most populated in the whole Ogun state lacked motorable roads. Indeed, there were no connecting roads within the vast areas.
Of course, none of the long stretch roads within the areas was street lighted. On account of this, night life was almost absent.
For emphasis, Akute, Alagbole, Ajuwon and Lambe constitute about 45% of Ogun state population.
Equally, there was absence of security apparatus, except the presence of a police station at Ajuwon area serving the entire four (4) communities.
With all intents and purposes, the areas are significantly under-policed and under-secured.
This development obviously presents challenges of immeasurable proportion for residents, some of who ply their trades and earn their means of livelihood in faraway Lagos Island, Ajah, Lekki etc.
It’s also instructive to note that there is no single industry of note within the area, whether through the entrepreneurial initiatives of individuals or government owned, but, however, populated with plethora of private primary and secondary schools been driven by education entrepreneurs who are primarily out to make excess profits from parents and guardians.
Meanwhile, larger segment of the population have resigned themselves to fate, having that strong view and believe that perhaps, the state is created to take care of the Egbas, Ijebus, Shagamus, Remos and to some extent, the Yewas, until recently when Governor Dapo Abiodun miraculously and mysteriously surfaced from nowhere to provide succor.
The crux of this Piece is that, the entire stretch of the areas is being given a completely new look and face-lifting by the state government under Dapo Abiodun watch.
As I put up this Write-up, the governor has long completed the long stretch of roads from Alapara/Akute to Berger, with the hitherto very disruptive, destructive and destructive DENRO BRIDGE completely TAMED.
For emphasis, this road stretches about 20kms. With the completion of this project alone, the state governor has written his name in gold, as the project had in the past defied all odds to be constructed and commissioned.
Equally, the state government have completed Alagbole/Ajuwon axis, an initiative commenced late October 2024 and commissioned in second week of December.
As this Piece is been packaged for publication, Dapo Abiodun has also almost draw curtains on the 37 kms Ajuwon/Akute road networks, hitherto abandoned by successive administrations perhaps, on account of anticipated huge cost implications.
The drainage system, as well as arrangement of laying of concrete blocks in both segments of the roads have been completed, only remain the laying of asphalts and bitumen in the weeks ahead.
It’s also already in public domain that, as soon as the government complete the Ajuwon/Akute roads, full attention would be on Akute/Lambe/Ijoko roads and the governor would have completely turn the tide of roads networks infrastructures in that massive areas.
Equally, the residents vividly recall that, it’s the same Dapo Abiodun administration that completed the long abandoned one side of Alagbole road leading to Yakoyo Bridge about two years ago.
The citizenry are absolutely confident and repose tremendous trust in this wonderful governor that in a short while from now, he will close the chapter of the construction of the other side.
Interestingly and more strikingly, the governor is in second tenure of his eight years and therefore, he doesn’t need the political patronage of the people of the areas.
Even, if he decides to run for senate after the completion of his governorship tenure in 2027, he will be contesting in Ogun East Senatorial Districts, and technically, he won’t require the support of the people of the areas in whatever form.
The above reason is why the people of Akute, Lambe, Alagbole and Ajuwon must applaud, thankful, pay tribute and immensely be appreciative of spirited efforts of Dapo Abiodun in making life abundance, comfortable and prosperous for them, all attributes rooted indeed, in love, genuine spirit and thoughtfulness, and essentially purposeful and result oriented governance that has been the hallmarks of his administration all over the state..
