Defection: Two reps dump PDP, LP for APC

Two members of the House of Representatives, Peter Akpanke (PDP, Cross River) and Paul Nnamchi (LP, Enugu) have defected from the opposition and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.
Speaker of the House, Rt (Hon) Tajudeen Abbas announced the decisions of the lawmakers at plenary on Tuesday.
Akpanke represents Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwara Federal Constituency while Nnamchi represents Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency.
Also, President Bola Tinubu has written to the House of Representatives on his decision to withhold assent to the National Assembly Library Trust Fund Establishment Bill, citing funding concerns.
The president said the bill runs in conflict with other laws and goes against public interest.
