Delegates begin voting at Lagos APC chairmanship primaries

The delegates at the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship primaries have begun to cast their votes at the party’s secretariat in Acme, Ogba-Ikeja.

The election started with local governments that have consensus candidates.

As at 12:35pm, Iba Local Council Development Area, Ijede LCDA, Lekki LCDA, Oto-Awori LCDA and Surulere local government delegates were ushered into the voting hall to affirm the consensuship of their candidates.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat addressed the delegates, urging them to be orderly.

Hamzat appealed to the delegates to be peaceful, stating that the whole country is watching.

Also, the Chairman of the Lagos APC Election Committee, Babatunde Ogala SAN, reeled out the voting modalities, stating that delegates of the local governments with no consensus would vote after those with consensus had affirmed the candidates of their local governments.

He added that delegates should leave the venue after voting.
