An aide to the Governor of Delta State, Ossai Ovie, has criticised actress Tonto Dikeh for hugging her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, at their son King Andre’s birthday party held in Abuja on Sunday.
The governor’s aide took to his Facebook page to express his dissatisfaction, stating that it was not right for Tonto to hug her ex-husband, especially as he is married. He added that she should have considered the feelings of his wife, Rosy Meurer.
Meanwhile, Tonto paid tribute to Churchill for being an amazing father while delivering her thanksgiving speech. She stated that he might not have been an amazing husband, but he has been an amazing dad, noting that he is now a changed man, different from the man she once knew.
Tonto added that she loves him with the love of God and also prayed for him, his other children and his business before giving him a hug.
“I want to celebrate special people and one of them is my ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill. I would like to say a big thank you to you, Big Church. Thank you very much for collaborating with me and making this possible. I could not have done it alone. I want to let everyone know that this man is not the man I knew. He is a changed man and glory be to God,” she said in her speech.
“He might not have been a good husband, but he is an amazing dad, an amazing father, and I just want to say thank you so much. I love you with the love of God and I wish you all the best.”
The duo recently announced their reconciliation and intention to co-parent peacefully after a decade of estrangement.
Following the reconciliation, Churchill’s wife, Rosy, has been posting messages addressing critics who claimed she had snatched her husband from Tonto. She stated that she is now ready to tell her side of the story after years of speculation and accusations that she was responsible for the couple’s divorce.
