Don’t be far from me, Fubara urges Wike

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has urged his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, not to distance himself from him even if Wike decides to switch sides politically.

The governor made this appeal during a thanksgiving reception held for Wike at his private residence in Rumueprikom, located in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Acknowledging the possibility of Wike’s political realignment, with reports of his planned defection form the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Fubara expressed his concern about potential challenges and the presence of political adversaries eager to exploit any vulnerabilities.

He further appealed to his predecessor to maintain their close connection to navigate the political landscape effectively.

“While it appears that you may be considering crossing over to the other side, with many people wishing you well, I kindly request that you do not keep your distance from me. I am fully aware that there are sharks and tigers lurking around, seeking opportunities to cause harm.

“By remaining close to me, we can continue to guide and focus on the betterment of our state,” Fubara said.
