Edo State gets new Commissioner of Police

The Edo State Police Command has a new Commissioner of Police. He is CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo.

Before his deployment, CP Edwin-Iwo was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Intelligence in the Force Intelligence Department, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The new commissioner assumed duty on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 and takes over from CP Funsho Adegboye.

Edwin-Iwo hails from Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

He enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks.

He served as the Police PRO in Lagos and Oyo States, and was a Divisional Police Officer in Bayelsa State.

Edwin-Iwo had also served as Assistant Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State and as Commissioner of Police, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Port-Harcourt and a Master’s in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan.

The new commissioner is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
