The Edo State Government has urged investors and entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in the state, citing its abundant natural resources, agricultural potential and access to wider Nigerian markets.

Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor, made the call at the opening of the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair 2026, organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Representing Governor Monday Okpebholo, Anabor described Edo as an attractive investment destination and encouraged visitors to explore the products showcased at the state’s exhibition stand.

He said the administration was taking steps to improve the business environment by streamlining processes, removing bureaucratic bottlenecks and harmonising tax procedures.

The commissioner also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, improved security measures and access to agricultural markets as key factors supporting investment in the state.

Anabor and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Felicia Edokpolor, later led trade fair officials and other dignitaries on a tour of the Edo pavilion, which featured products from eight state-sponsored exhibitors.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, said the Federal Government was implementing measures to enhance the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses and expand their access to local and international markets.

She cited initiatives such as the National Single Window, e-commerce and trade exhibitions as part of efforts to strengthen trade and investment.
