Operatives from the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 55 individuals suspected of internet fraud across various locations in Offa, Offa Local Government Area, Kwara State, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

This recent crackdown follows a prior EFCC operation from September 3 to 6, 2024, in which around 100 suspected internet fraudsters were detained in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

The suspects, mostly young men of school age, were apprehended early Wednesday morning after intelligence reports highlighted the increasing activities of fraudsters causing harm to innocent citizens through deceitful schemes in the area.

Recovered items included nine luxury cars, two motorcycles, laptops, smartphones, and assorted charms—all believed to be tied to criminal activity.

The suspects are set to face court proceedings following the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
