EFCC operatives storm Okorocha’s Abuja residence

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have stormed the Abuja residence of the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
The EFCC who arrived the residence in Maitama Abuja around 11:30am on Tuesday were there to arrest the former governor.
The Imo senator, however, refused to come out, insisting that the EFCC operatives provide a warrant of arrest from the court.
Speaking with Channels TV, Okorocha said the EFCC have placed him under hostage.
“I am under hostage I would say;, the EFCC is at my house both the back and the front. I would say, I have enquired if they have an arrest warrant, nothing, and I am supposed to be getting ready for screening.
“I don’t know what is really happening, It is unfortunate that this is happening here,” he confirmed.
His aide, Sam Onwuemeodo also described the actions of the EFCC as political witch-hunting.
He said the plan was to prevent him from attending the screening of presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress.
“Why today they (EFCC) are coming to prevent his excellence from coming out from his house.
“They are aware that the APC is having their screening in Abuja,” he told Premium Times.
