The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to arraign former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, alongside his daughter Fatimah, and two other individuals on Thursday, May 9th, over allegations of fraudulent activities amounting to N2.7 billion.
According to the EFCC, the charges stem from irregularities discovered within the Aviation Ministry during Sirika’s tenure.
The accused are alleged to have misused their positions to facilitate money laundering activities.
Scheduled to appear before Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Sirika and his co-defendants face accusations of contract fraud and financial misconduct.
This marks the first time Sirika will stand trial in relation to these allegations, signaling a significant development in the ongoing investigation into corruption within Nigeria’s government sectors.
