Egyptian star Salah hints at Liverpool exit

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has hinted at leaving the English Premier League giants at the end of the current season.
The Egyptian’s contract with the Anfield club expires at the season’s end, with no signs of a renewal in sight.
Salah revealed in an interview with Sky Sports that discussions about a new deal have not started. He also expressed a desire to secure one final Premier League title with the team.
“It is my last year at the club, so I want to do something special for the city,” Salah said during Friday’s interview.
On the title chase, the 32-year-old striker noted Liverpool’s determination to win the league this season, especially after missing the chance to celebrate properly during their pandemic-era triumph in 2020.
“We waited 30 years or so to win that title, and during the pandemic, we didn’t really celebrate it the right way. It wasn’t ideal. So hopefully, we can do it this year,” Salah said.
Besides Salah, Liverpool could also lose two other high-profile stars: captain Virgil van Dijk and England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. Both players, like Salah, are out of contract after this season. The Egyptian hopes they can help the club secure the title before leaving.
“My motivation this year is to win a trophy and play a big part in achieving that, especially the Premier League,” Salah added.
“I still believe the team needs another trophy. There are still key players like Trent, Virgil, Alisson (Becker), and Robbo (Andy Robertson). It’s important for us to win one more before we all move on.”
Salah, who has scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 18 Premier League appearances this season, remains a crucial part of Liverpool’s title push.
