The Federal Road Safety Corps has deployed 1,100 personnel and 16 patrol vehicles across Ondo State to ensure safe and free movement during the Eid-al-Fitr celebrations.
Disclosing this development on Wednesday, the Ondo State Sector Commander of the corps, Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, noted that the exercise includes the dispatch of 500 regular officers and 600 special marshals to monitor major roads and highways across the state.
He equally noted that ambulances had also been stationed along accident-prone corridors to enable swift response in the event of emergencies.
According to him, patrol teams will operate round the clock throughout the festive period to assist motorists and ensure smooth traffic flow, adding that two tow trucks will be positioned to quickly remove broken-down vehicles and other obstructions that could cause road accidents.
Dr. Ibitoye also revealed that FRSC officials would manage traffic around Eid prayer grounds, particularly in Akure and other major towns in the state, while urging motorists to avoid speeding, overloading, and road rage during the celebrations.
