As Muslims across the globe mark Eid-el-Kabir, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have extended warm greetings to the faithful, urging reflection on the values of sacrifice, unity, and devotion to the common good.

Governor Adeleke, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, recognised the value of sacrifice and devotion which Allah conveyed to mankind through Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son, Prophet Ismail (AS). He tasked the faithful to use this sacred moment to renew their commitment to help those in distress and support efforts that elevate communities.

“Eid-el-Kabir is a celebration of faith and the bountiful rewards that come with sacrifice. It is also a moment to reflect on the lessons of devotion and its power to overcome the pains of the moment and ensure a future that is full of promise.”

Adeleke appreciated the resilience and sustained support of Osun residents for his administration, assuring them that their sacrifices in the face of economic and social challenges would be rewarded through improved governance and life-changing policies.

Similarly, former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, extended his goodwill to Muslims and the people of the state. He described Eid-el-Kabir as a time of deep spiritual significance, rooted in the legacy of total submission to the will of Allah.

“Eid al-Adha reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering obedience and devotion to God. It is a sacred time to renew our faith, extend compassion to others, and rededicate ourselves to service — both to God and to humanity,” the minister stated.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Dr. Bolaji Akinola, Oyetola commended the resilience and industrious spirit of the people of Osun, urging citizens across religious and political divides to use the season to foster harmony, mutual respect, and collective progress in the state.

The minister prayed for peace and progress across the state and the nation, asking Allah to accept the sacrifices of the faithful and grant leaders the wisdom to guide with integrity and compassion.
