Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has felicitated the Muslim community on Eid-ul-Fitr 1446 AH, praying to Allah to grant every fasting believer the full rewards of their spiritual exertion during the holy month.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Saturday in Ilorin.
The Governor joined the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the entire Muslim community in thanking Allah for the successful completion of Ramadan and the arrival of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar, which marks the celebration.
“As we bid farewell to the sacred month of Ramadan, I urge our brethren not to relent in their acts of ibadah (worship), in giving alms to the poor, or in avoiding actions that diminish our standing as believers and as responsible members of society,” the Governor said.
“As we proceed to the Eid prayers and beyond, let us embrace moderation in all things, foster human brotherhood, exchange gifts—especially with the less privileged—and recommit ourselves to building a community we are proud to be part of.
“We ask Allah to accept our supplications and prayers, purify our deeds, bless our families, our state, and our country, and grant us the grace to observe many more Ramadan fasts in the future,” he added.
