A former leader of the ADC in Ekiti State, Ayodele David-Adesua, has resigned from the party and joined the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
David-Adesua, who contested the ADC governorship ticket in 2018 and 2026, is now reportedly eyeing the PDP senatorial ticket for Ekiti North Senatorial District.
His resignation was conveyed in a letter dated April 21, 2026, and addressed to the chairman of ADC, Ijesa Isu Ward 7, in Ikole LGA.
“I hereby resign my membership of the ADC with immediate effect, 21st April 2026. My membership registration number is EK-IKO-IJ-11183,” he stated.
In his piece, the politician noted that he had played active roles in strengthening the party across different levels during his stay, adding that he supported the party’s structure by providing office spaces across the 12 wards in Ikole and funding its activities.
“During my time with the ADC, I contributed at ward, local government, state and national levels, including efforts before and after the coalition,” he said.
Confirming his defection, he said, “I took this decision to better serve my people in Ekiti North. I need a viable platform to deliver the dividends of democracy.”
