The Ekiti State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second terms in office. The decision, which was reached during a special caucus meeting held in Iyin Ekiti, was based on their exemplary leadership and impactful policies that have significantly influenced governance at both federal and state levels.
The meeting was attended by prominent APC leaders including the first civilian Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, immediate past Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and the current Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji. Others present included Deputy Governor Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Speaker of the State Assembly Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, former Deputy Governor Prof Modupe Adelabu, as well as current and former lawmakers.
Senator Yemi Adaramodu, while moving the motion for President Tinubu’s endorsement, praised the President’s economic and security reforms, which he described as transformational. According to him, the President’s bold decisions have addressed core issues facing Nigeria, and his leadership deserves continuity for long-term impact. The motion was met with a resounding voice vote in support.

“We in Ekiti APC want to adopt continuity, starting with our President. Come 2027, we support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue in office so the Renewed Hope Agenda can be sustained,” Adaramodu stated, also dismissing fears over political realignments, saying the APC remains unshaken by opposition propaganda.
On the state level, Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye moved the motion for Governor Oyebanji’s endorsement, highlighting his commitment to grassroots development, infrastructure upgrades, education, healthcare, and security. He noted that the governor’s people-centered policies have increased the party’s popularity and trust among Ekiti citizens.
State APC Chairman, Barr. Sola Elesin, in his welcome address, credited Governor Oyebanji for the party’s growing acceptance across the state, pointing to his developmental strides in electrification, agriculture, youth empowerment, and rural development. He asserted that no town in Ekiti has been left untouched by the administration’s interventions.
Former Governor Fayemi also expressed pride in the Governor’s performance, citing national praise for his humility and results-oriented leadership. “This is all due to how our Governor has conducted himself. That’s why we are gathered here today to work together toward a greater Ekiti,” Fayemi said.
In response, Governor Oyebanji expressed deep appreciation to the party leaders for their support, thanking President Tinubu for creating a conducive environment for progress. He also acknowledged the mentorship and backing of former Governors Adebayo and Fayemi. Reaffirming his commitment to Ekiti’s development, Oyebanji welcomed the endorsement and pledged to continue working for the people.
