Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji will begin a two-week annual leave on Monday, August 24, 2026, the state government has announced.

The governor is expected to resume official duties on Monday, September 7, after completing the leave, which forms part of his statutory annual entitlement.

The development was contained in a statement issued by Oyebanji’s Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, on Monday.

According to the statement, Oyebanji will remain abreast of major developments in the state and attend to critical matters relating to governance and administration during the period.

It added that the leave would be the second time Oyebanji would proceed on annual leave since assuming office as governor on Oct. 16, 2022.

Meanwhile, the state government assured residents that the governor’s absence would not affect the smooth running of government or the implementation of ongoing programmes and policies.

It also urged residents to continue supporting the administration and its development initiatives while the governor is away.
