Ekiti guber: In last-minute moves to save APC, Tinubu confers with SWAGA leaders

In a bid to solidify the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State and ensure victory in Saturday’s governorship election, the party’s presidential candidate, Asíwájú Bola Tinubu, has launched into a series of crucial meetings.

WesternPost can reveal today that shortly after his arrival in Ado-Ekiti on Monday for the mega rally held on Tuesday for the party’s candidate, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Asíwájú Tinubu began his engagements with leaders of South West Agenda for Asíwájú Tinubu (SWAGA) in the state.

SWAGA has been a thorn in the flesh of Governor Kayode Fayemi and enjoys tremendous goodwill in the state.

Tinubu met with Senator Adeniyi on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti and moved over to meet with SWAGA head honcho, Senator Dayo Adeyeye and his (Tinubu’s) son in-law, Hon. Oye Ojo on Wednesday in Abuja to embrace the APC candidate and ensure the party goes into the poll undivided.

The trio had stayed away from the mega rally organized for BAO in Ado-Ekiti attended by Tinubu, APC Chairman, Senator Adamu Abdulahi and 14 of its governors.

To achieve a breakthrough in the discussion between Governor Fayemi and the SWAGA men, WesternPost learnt there will be give and take and compromises by the two parties.

SWAGA leaders are said to be working to support the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni, until the intervention from Tinubu and the compromise being worked out, which though is yet to be successfully consumated.
