The Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government has commenced a bush-combing exercise across forest corridors in the council area to curb kidnapping and banditry.
The operation was ordered by the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Gbenga Oluwatuyi, as part of efforts to safeguard lives and property during the Yuletide.
It was gathered that the exercise is aimed at flushing out criminals before, during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The operation is being carried out by a joint security team comprising the Ekiti State Security Network, Amotekun Corps, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Department of State Services, and the Nigeria Police Force.
Security operatives have been deployed to identified forest routes, border communities and remote areas considered vulnerable to criminal activities.
The exercise, according to the chairman, aligns with the Ekiti State Government’s strategy of adopting proactive measures to sustain peace and security across communities, especially during festive periods.
Residents of the local government have welcomed the move, expressing confidence that the sustained security presence will ensure a peaceful festive season.
