The Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Adejimi Adu, has officially endorsed the World Iyan Carnival, a cultural event aimed at promoting Ekiti’s heritage and boosting tourism.

Oba Adu, who also serves as Chairman of the Traditional Council of Obas in Ekiti State, gave his support during a courtesy visit by the carnival organizers to his palace.

The monarch expressed delight at the initiative, saying it would showcase Ekiti State’s rich cultural heritage to a wider audience.

On plans for the proposed Aafin Iyan Resorts in Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adu noted that the project would further elevate the town’s profile and promote the community’s traditions globally.

He encouraged residents to attend the carnival in large numbers, which is scheduled to hold at Fajuyi Park, Ado Ekiti, on December 27, 2025.

The World Iyan Carnival was conceived by young entrepreneurs to create a platform for cultural exchange while celebrating local music, dance, fashion, and art.

The carnival’s convener, Prince Ade Ajayi, and Local Organizing Chairman, Dr. Sikiru Olowoyo, thanked the Ogoga for his endorsement, describing it as a boost to the event’s credibility in Ekiti State.
