The Ekiti State Police Command has announced the commencement of full enforcement of the Vehicle Tinted Glass Permit across the state.

According to the Command, the enforcement, which began on October 2, 2025, is in line with existing regulations and the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, said in a statement that the exercise is part of efforts to strengthen security across the state.

He noted that it is “strategically aimed at ensuring detection and prevention of crime, adequate security for lives and property and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere across the State.”

The statement also reiterated that the ban on unauthorised use of sirens and revolving or strobe lights, as well as covering and defacing of number plates, remains in force.

Residents were advised to comply with the directive and go about their lawful activities peacefully.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, cautioned officers deployed for the exercise to be professional in their conduct.

He urged them to be firm but also ensure respect for human rights while avoiding corrupt practices.

Meanwhile, motorists who are yet to obtain their permits have been advised to complete their registration via www.possap.gov.ng.
