Ekiti prophet urges Nigerian leaders to serve with integrity

The Founder of Holy Trinity Authority Prophetic Church, Ekiti, Prophet James Omitade, has charged Nigerian leaders at all levels to shun personal interests and commit themselves to genuine service to the people.
Omitade said the country’s progress depended largely on the character, sincerity and accountability of those entrusted with public offices.
The cleric, who spoke on responsible leadership, described political authority as a sacred trust that should be used to improve the lives of citizens rather than pursue personal enrichment.
He urged leaders to place the welfare of Nigerians above political considerations, stressing that public office should not be treated as a platform for self-interest.
“Leaders must be transparent, accountable and honest in the discharge of their responsibilities. The people deserve leadership that is sincere and committed to their welfare,” he said.
Omitade also called on those in government to fulfil their campaign promises and ensure that public funds and other resources were deployed for the benefit of the people.
He urged leaders to demonstrate courage, fairness and compassion, saying their actions in office would determine the legacy they leave for future generations.
The prophet also appealed to Nigerians to support leaders with proven character and competence, expressing optimism that the country could overcome its challenges if leaders embraced integrity, genuine service and the fear of God.
