Ekwunife, APC deputy governorship candidate, breaks rank to congratulate Soludo
The All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate in Anambra State, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), has broken rank by congratulating Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election. The development marks a break from partisan rivalry as Ekwunife publicly acknowledged the governor’s victory.
In a statement addressed to her teeming supporters, Ekwunife expressed profound gratitude to her supporters for their unwavering commitment throughout the campaign.
She described their time, energy, and prayers as “the cornerstone” of her efforts to serve Anambra with “compassion, courage, and competence.”
Acknowledging that the election outcome did not go her way, Ekwunife said she remained “profoundly proud” of the campaign she ran alongside her running mate, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu. She described the journey as “a victory of faith, unity, and hope, a victory that no ballot can erase.”
Ekwunife also recognized the sacrifices of young people, mothers, and all supporters who carried the campaign’s vision, noting that their dedication demonstrated that politics can indeed be “about people and purpose.”
Urging Anambra residents and stakeholders to prioritize the state’s progress, she called for continued support of initiatives promoting peace, unity, and development, emphasizing that “the interest of our state must always come first.”
Breaking from political rivalry, she extended her warm congratulations to Governor Soludo, wishing him success in his second term and encouraging collaboration among all parties to build a stronger, more prosperous Anambra.
Concluding her statement with prayers for her supporters, she said, “May God bless each of you abundantly for your faith, courage, and love. May He reward every sacrifice and strengthen your hearts for the days ahead.”
