El-Rufai frustrated over lack of control in Kaduna, says Reno Omokri

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has come under fire from ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri, who accused him of spreading misinformation about the state’s security situation under the current administration.
Omokri alleged that El-Rufai’s recent criticisms stem from frustration over his inability to exert influence over his successor, Governor Uba Sani. According to Omokri, the former governor had expected to maintain control over Kaduna’s governance even after leaving office but is now discontented with his lack of influence.
He said: “Throughout the eight years that El-Rufai misruled Kaduna, not a single bandit leader was arrested, killed, or convicted.
“But under the Tinubu administration, more than fourteen notoriously murderous bandit leaders have been killed, including Kachalla Ali Kawaje, Kachalla Halilu Sububu, Kachalla Damina, Kachalla Dangote, and Kachalla Jafaru.
“Others are Kachalla Barume, Kachalla Shehu, Tsoho, Kachalla Yellow Mai Buhu, Yellow Sirajo, Kachalla Dan Muhammadu, Kachalla Makasko, Yellow Hassan, Boderi, Kachalla Dan Ba Birki, and Auta Dan Mai Jan Kai.
“And as a result, peace has returned to Kaduna and its neighboring states. No longer do we see photos of prominent persons having meetings with heavily armed Kachalla/bandit leaders in broad daylight and without consequences, as occurred under Nasir El-Rufai.”
Omokri stated that ransom payments to bandits have stopped, emphasizing that instead, bandits are being killed, arrested, tried, and convicted.
He highlighted the current administration’s significant progress in combating banditry.
Omokri further urged Nigerians to ignore El-Rufai’s statements, describing him as a frustrated individual attempting to discredit others.
