Emefiele has been our member since Feb 2021, APC ward chairman confirms

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 6, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Nduka Erikpume, says Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, is a member of the party.

Erikpume confirmed Emefiele’s membership of APC in a chat with The PUNCH.

According to the ward chairman, Emefiele registered as a member of the APC in February 2021.

“Yes, he has registered since February 2021. He is our member,” he said.

It would be recalled that friends of Emefiele reportedly bought the N100m APC presidential forms for him on Friday in order to contest the party’s primaries on May 30.

But responding on Saturday, the CBN governor said he was yet to decide if he would be contesting the presidency.

He, however, said if he makes up his mind, he would use his own money to buy the APC nomination and expression of interest forms.
