Paralympic bronze medalist Eniola Bolaji has secured another gold medal, triumphing at the 2025 Spanish Para Badminton International II in Vitoria. This marks her 11th consecutive international victory.

The multiple African champion dominated the women’s singles SL3 final, defeating Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyba 2-0 (21-15, 21-15).

Bolaji’s journey to gold was impressive. She overpowered Brazil’s Kauana Michelson Beckenka 2-0 (21-15, 21-2) and France’s Caroline Bergeron 2-0 (21-7, 21-8) in the group stage before defeating Australia’s Celine Vinot 2-0 (21-8, 21-12) in the quarterfinals.

She continued her dominance in the semifinals, securing a decisive 2-0 (21-12, 21-6) victory over India’s Neeraj to book her place in the final.

Francis Orbih, President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), hailed Bolaji’s achievement, highlighting that this was her second gold in two months.

“Bolaji’s victory is a testament to her dedication and rising dominance on the world para badminton stage,” Orbih said. “This gold shows our athletes can compete at the highest level.”

He reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to investing in para badminton, aiming to ensure more players qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics.

Orbih also thanked the National Sports Commission (NSC) for its support, emphasizing its role in driving the growth of para sports in Nigeria.
