Former league champions Enyimba FC of Aba suffered a setback on Sunday as they were stunned at home by Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, who snatched all three points with a 1–0 victory in one of the matchday 14 fixtures of the NPFL. The defeat marked a disappointing outing for the People’s Elephants, whose fans were left shocked by the visitors’ first-half winner.
The upset in Aba came on a day Ikorodu City took control of the NPFL table after defeating Plateau United 2–1 in Lagos. The result lifted Ikorodu City to the summit, displacing Nasarawa United, who were held to a 1–1 draw by Kun Khalifat in Owerri.
Elsewhere, Bayelsa United secured a 2–1 win over Abia Warriors, while Rivers United recorded the same scoreline in their victory against Warri Wolves.
Kwara United’s unbeaten run came to a halt in Maiduguri, where they were beaten 2–0 by El-Kanemi Warriors.
In Saturday’s fixture, Bendel Insurance grabbed a late winner to edge Kano Pillars 2–1, giving coach Kennedy Boboye his first victory since taking charge of the Benin Arsenal.
