EPL: Bukayo Saka on target as Arsenal defeat Wolves 2-0

Wolves suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in their opening game of the Premier League season.

After a poor first half which saw Gary O’Neil’s side go 1-0 down, the club bounced back in the second period.

The visitors pressed hard for an equaliser but were eventually undone by a Bukayo Saka goal to condemn the side to a 2-0 defeat.

There were plenty of positives to take from the performance against the title hopefuls as Wolves look to improve on their mid-table Premier League finish from last season.

Against Arsenal, Wolves’ backline continued to look fragile. Toti Gomes in particular seemed highly uncomfortable in a back four and gave the ball away numerous times in the system.

While it is only the first competitive game in the new system, it is hard to imagine Gomes will adapt quickly given the performance.
