Essien Udim LGA will deliver 180,000 votes for Tinubu, Eno — Akpabio

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has declared that Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State will deliver over 180,000 votes for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno in forthcoming elections.

Akpabio made the assertion shortly after the emergence of local council party officers through a consensus process during the APC local government congress. He urged the newly elected officers to sustain unity within the party in the area.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, the Senate President congratulated party members, describing the development as another endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Eno by the people of Essien Udim.

He noted that the local government had previously supported both leaders and expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

Akpabio stated that, based on current voter registration figures, the local government was capable of delivering over 180,000 votes for the President and the Governor. He commended the consensus approach adopted in electing the council officers and thanked Governor Eno for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in the state.

He added that the development signalled what he described as an early victory for the APC in Essien Udim ahead of future elections.

“I thank Governor Eno for the peaceful ambience in the state. When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice. I will sit down there and watch my people rejoicing and I say, congratulations to the APC for already winning second term in Essien Udim Local Government Area,” he said.
