Ex-lawmaker Ajatta endorses Bamigbetan for House of Representatives seat

Former member of the House of Representatives for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Jaiyeola Ajatta, has endorsed fellow Lagos politician and frontline aspirant, Kehinde Bamigbetan, for the House of Representatives seat ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

Ajatta made the declaration on Monday during a courtesy visit by Bamigbetan, where he pledged to mobilise party members in Ajao Estate and across the constituency to support his aspiration.

The former lawmaker said Bamigbetan deserved the position, having contributed significantly to the growth of the party and community development over the years.

Ajatta recalled several projects implemented during Bamigbetan’s tenure as chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, including the provision of free school uniforms for pupils, construction of primary schools, and establishment of health centres.

“You opened up the community. Your human development, fiscal reforms and infrastructural programmes transformed Ejigbo LCDA. You have a passion for community development that will make you an asset at the National Assembly,” Ajatta said.

He also commended Bamigbetan for collaborating with him during his two terms in the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2011, particularly in the establishment of primary healthcare centres at Morning Star and Elemu in Ejigbo through constituency projects.

According to Ajatta, Bamigbetan demonstrated leadership by securing landed properties for the healthcare facilities through the Ejigbo LCDA, noting that the projects would not have materialised without the support.

Ajatta further appreciated Bamigbetan for supporting his governorship ambition in Ondo State, saying the aspirant stood by him throughout the campaign period.
