Ex-NANS president shows solidarity in ongoing appeal by Ondo job seeker

A former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Akinteye Babatunde, has appealed to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to offer employment to a young man named Blessing Oripenaye who is currently staging a vigil at the Government House.
The appeal followed reports that the job seeker had remained around the Governor’s Office for days, seeking attention over his employment request.
Blaming the situation on the growing frustration among youths over unemployment in the country, the ex-student leader urged the governor to show compassion by intervening in the matter and providing a solution.
“Your Excellency, this young man has demonstrated unusual persistence. I appeal that you consider him for any available opportunity,” he said.
He added that the situation should not be ignored, noting that it presents an opportunity for the government to positively impact a citizen’s life.
The former NANS president further called on authorities to ensure the safety of the individual while maintaining order around the Government House.
Efforts to get an official response from the Ondo State Government have been futile at the moment.
