Ex-President Buhari did his best to fights corruption, says Adesina

The Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to former Nigeria President, Muhammdu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina has said that his principal did his honest best to curb corruption in Nigeria during his eight year tenure in office.

Speaking during a Media chat organised by the Association of Veteran Journalists, Osun State chapter on Wednesday in Osogbo, Adesina, said the ex-President fought corruption and did not shield anybody that is corrupt.

He maintained that Buhari did his best during his administration, saying “there is no place in the world that a single administration will do everything.”

His words: “Whether we like it or not, Buhari is one man who has curb corruption, whatever you like to say.

“One day I sat down with the group manager director of NNPC he said since he assumed office that Buhari has never sent anybody to him to make any request. Buhari will not touch anything that is not his own.

“You can say that this person was arrested and others, the fact that they were arrested is a testament to the fact that the former President will not shield anybody that is corrupt.

“He fought corruption which is one of the three foundations of his administration. The jury is open for anybody to express him or herself.

“Look at the number of convictions we have between 2011 to 2015 compared with 2015 to 2023, it is almost times five. Buhari did his honest best.

“Buhari is as straight as arrow, he doesn’t lie and if you lied to him, one day he will counter your claim that made it very easy to sell him. Anything that he would denied, he wouldn’t do.

“It was very easy for me to manage him and he did not expect you to lie for him.”
