Ex-Senate president, Saraki loses mum

Former Kwara state governor and ex-president of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki lost his mum, Chief Mrs Florence Morenike Saraki on Tuesday evening.

Mrs Saraki was 89.

Senator Saraki is the son of the late astute politician, Senator Abubakar Olusola Saraki, founder of the Saraki dynasty in Ilorin.

The former Senate president of the Eighth National Assembly confirmed the passing of his mum in a Facebook post, he wrote:

“With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024.

“Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course. We appreciate your love, prayers, and support as we mourn Mama’s passing”.

Mrs Saraki leaves behind Senator Gbemisola Saraki, the younger sister to Senator Bukola Saraki and her grandchildren.
