Excluding me from primaries, recipe for trouble, says Yahaya Bello

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello says he has not stepped down from the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress.
Speaking with journalists after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, Bello rejected the move by the northern governors to favour power shift to the South.
Bello said he did not agree with the five names which was picked by his colleagues and forwarded to President Buhari.
He said he remained the voice of the youth and wouldn’t agree for him to be shut out of the process.
“No reason for me to be excluded from the ballot. If they do so then that is a recipe for bigger trouble for the party. However, I don’t think it’s the decision of the party. It is a decision of a few elites who may decide to use their whatever position to suppress the so-called minority. But I want to prove that in this country, I am not in the minority. We have the majority. I belong to the younger generation.
“I belong to the generation of Nigerians that are oppressed and they are saying they most have their voice. And I strongly believe that getting into that arena today, I will win overwhelmingly if the process and the normal regulations are followed,” he said
The governor added that he would be willing to step down if Mr Buhari had asked him to but “Mr President did not ask anyone to step down.”
