EXCLUSIVE: Obasanjo meets 16 political parties in Abeokuta to drum support for Obi

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is unrelenting in his bid to push through the presidential aspiration of Labour Party, candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

WesternPost learnt that the former president is presently holding a meeting with the leadership of at least 16 political parties to drum support for Obi.

The meeting, it was learnt, is being held this Wednesday afternoon at his Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Most of the parties at the meeting are said to be those smaller parties with the exception of the other big three: the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso’s New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP).

Obasanjo has never hidden his support for Obi and has taken his battle to get the former Anambra State governor to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari across the country and to the international community.

But Obi is being hobbled by the limited support he is garnering across the country.
The Southeast and some parts of the South-south are said to be his main stronghold.

His aspiration has also created a sensation on social media where most of his supporters have taken their battle to. Many have asked the question as to how many of the youths campaigning for Obi on social media have PVCs and actually registered for the election.
