FAAN condemns viral video of Immigration official soliciting money

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has condemned a viral video showing a Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) official soliciting money from a passenger at one of the country’s airports.
In an official statement, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director and Chief Executive of FAAN, reacted to the incident, stating, “I have seen the disturbing video circulating of a Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) official begging a passenger for money at the airport. This behavior is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the passenger experience we hope to provide at our terminals.”
Mrs. Kuku assured the public that the implicated officer has been immediately removed from duty and is undergoing disciplinary action within the NIS. She emphasized FAAN’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism among airport personnel.
FAAN encouraged passengers to report any similar incidents or seek assistance using the provided phone numbers and QR codes.
“Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we will take every necessary step to ensure a pleasant travel experience for everyone,” Mrs. Kuku reiterated.
The authority urged passengers to continue cooperating in maintaining the integrity of airport operations.
