Facelifting, reconstruction works begin at Eleruwa Palace ahead of coronation

By Adejayan Gbenga –
The ancient Eleruwa Palace in Eruwa, Oyo State, is currently undergoing major reconstruction and renovation ahead of the coronation of Oba Adebayo Adegbola.
It would be recalled that the Oyo State Government had earlier confirmed that Prince Adebayo Adegbola will be crowned as the new Eleruwa of Eruwa on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Meanwhile, renovation work has commenced at the ancient palace.
Reliable sources within the town confirmed that the renovation is being sponsored by Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government.

The facelifting aims to preserve the palace’s historical significance while modernizing its structure to meet present-day standards.
WESTERN POST learnt that the palace, which will serve as a dignified home for the traditional ruler, is also expected to stand as a central hub for cultural gatherings, community events, and traditional ceremonies.
Governor Makinde had approved the appointment of Prince Adegbola as the Eleruwa of Eruwa in March 2025, following the legal resolution of a protracted dispute over the stool.
